Corentin Fricard

Corentin Fricard is a first-year doctoral student in the French PhD program at (with a certificate in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies). His research focuses on the representations of gender and sexuality in both Anglophone and Francophone media. He has extensively studied Ryan Murphy Productions (American Horror Story, Pose) as well as television productions and their foreign remakes (Transparent (US) / Louise (France)). Corentin received a BA (and is finishing an MA) in Anglophone Studies from the Université de Limoges, France. His master's thesis was entitled 'Asylum: Murphy's Queer Reality' and was received with highest honors in 2016. In 2019, he received a Master's degree in French and Francophone Studies from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research focus at Pitt is on gender/sexuality/queer studies in a contemporary French context.
