Who We Are
Founded in 1913, the Italian Club at the University of Pittsburgh has been engaging students as well as the Pittsburgh community for over a century. Our mission is to provide a fun and engaging environment for those interested in the Italian language or culture to continue to develop their passion outside of a classroom setting.
What We Do
In order to accomplish this goal, we provide a wide variety of events throughout the semester. We provide student-run Italian language tutoring, Italian conversation sessions, opportunities to meet the Italian Program’s faculty members, as well as Italian cultural events.
In 2018, the Pitt Italian Club was one of fifteen US Italian clubs accepted to the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)’s Leadership Council as part of the NIAF on Campus program. This newly-formed selective council connects Italian clubs from all across the country. Some benefits of our membership include regular web conferences between club officers and NIAF officials to discuss ways to strengthen the club and share ideas with officers of different Italian clubs. Additionally, membership in this council ensures funding through NIAF for Italian Club events!
